Isaiah 1:17, Micah 6:8, Leviticus 19:15
This Sunday we are delighted to welcome Bella Sutherland and Pascal N’Konzi, from our student group. They will be talking to us about ‘Social Justice vs Biblical Justice: Seeking God’s Restorative Justice’.
As you read through the following passages you might like to ask yourself the following questions;-
- How do you understand the call to “defend the oppressed” and “plead the case of the widow” in the context of today?’
- What role do forgiveness and reconciliation play in the pursuit of restorative justice, both on a personal level and within communities?
- How does the Bible inform your understanding of what justice is?
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:17
And what does the lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbour. Leviticus 19:15
