Holy Week with Newington Churches together
Services & events in Holy Week 2022:
Everyone living in or visiting Newington is welcome to any of these.
Mon 11th April – Friday 15th April:
Holy Week morning services with breakfast: from 7.45am
Each morning one of five ministers from NCT’s nine churches will lead a short service of worship at Craigmillar Park Church, EH16 5LZ.
This will be followed by breakfast of juice, cereal, rolls, tea & coffee in the adjoining hall.
Thurs 14th April – Maundy Thursday:
Celebration of communion: 7.30pm

St Peter’s Scottish Episcopal Church, EH8 9PE
Frid 15th April – Good Friday
Walk of Witness: 9.30am
The Walk of Witness will visit four NCT churches, stopping outside each for a short time of reading, singing and prayer. It will start at 9.30am at Craigmillar Park Church, EH16 5LZ, then proceed to St Columbas Catholic Church, EH9 1SN, then to St Peter’s Scottish Episcopal Church, EH8 9PE, to arrive finally at the City of Edinburgh Methodist Church, EH8 9BX.

Mayfield Salisbury Parish Church, EH9 1TQ: evening service
St Peter’s Scottish Episcopal Church, EH8 9PE: with the choir singing St John’s Passion (Heinrich Schutz)
