Rupert Ward brings to a close the series ‘Is the Good News really good news’ with a talk titled ‘Preaching the gospel’. Rupert looks at Acts 4v1-22 to draw out what it means to preach the gospel. We may find it difficult to talk to people about the good news of Jesus, fearing that we may come up against resistance or become unpopular. In the passage, we read about John and Peter who had been speaking to a large crowd about Jesus. Now they are in front of the authorities and are being ordered not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. This opposition could have been a hindrance to John and Peter, however, there were thousands who heard their message and believed. Which response will we choose to focus on if we step out and share the gospel?
