Luke 6: 46-48
Sunday 14th January 2024

This week Rupert Ward will be speaking to us about Mindful Living: Incorporating Prayer into Daily Life.
In our scripture this week we are looking at the story of the wise and foolish builders in Luke’s gospel. As we go through this series on Ancient wisdom there is an invitation to go deeper, to be a wise builder. In this text, what does Jesus say is the difference between the wise and foolish builder? What do you think it means to “dig down deep”?
‘ “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.’
