Foodbank Update for May/June 2025

The Foodbank is going well.  We see anything between twelve and twenty-five guests every week, still with no particular pattern emerging.  There are new people every week and fewer of our “regulars”.  Of course, we hope that this means their situations have improved, but this is not always the case.

One week we were quite despondent because stocks were low and we had just paid for a delivery from Sainsbury’s not long before that.  We prayed that God would send us more and the following week, donations arrived from NINE different sources.  We still have a bit of trouble learning to trust in his provision!  Please continue to pray for our guests, for the team and for God’s provision for the Foodbank.

Financial support continues to be essential as we are placing orders with Sainsbury’s now every few weeks.  We were delighted to receive the recent donation of £500 from Newington Churches Together.  Thank you.

I’m attaching a list of our particular needs for Newington Foodbank+ for the next two months.  Could you please let your congregations know that we are always delighted to receive any donations, and very grateful for them, but this is the list of our particular needs at this time.

Donations can be brought to the Foodbank at here at CCE on Thursday or Sunday  mornings (10.45-12.15pm).
