Foodbank Update for December

Dear Friends,

As we enter the season of Advent, I am writing once again to ask for your help to publicise the needs of the Foodbank to the congregations of Newington Churches Together.  We continue to be very grateful for the help Newington Foodbank+ receives from NCT, in the form of both food donations and financial support.  The food bank would be in a very different position by now without that support.

I’m attaching our list of essential items for December and here again are the bank details for the food bank, whose finances are managed by Community Church.  Extra financial support as the coldest months of winter approach would be very welcome indeed. ( See below for details)

During November we were very pleased to receive a large donation of food items from Fettes College following their collection from the school community for all five of Edinburgh City Mission’s food banks.  Students were on hand to help us all load up cars with these generous donations for delivery to the food banks and it was good to see their involvement as evidence of a growing awareness of the needs of those in the city in many ways less fortunate than themselves.  For some this may have been a first introduction to charitable giving.

Donations can be brought to the Foodbank at here at CCE on Thursday or Sunday  mornings (10.45-12.15pm).
