We run training courses, to train counsellors and people involved in other caring roles within the church or in their profession. All courses are recognised by the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) and accredited by the Open College Network (OCN).
Introduction to Christian Counselling (Level 2 OCN)
The 2017 introduction course is run over 3 weekends, this is a brilliant course for anyone who is interested in learning more about people, listening skills, and self-awareness and is appropriate for people for are involved in pastoral work, interested in becoming a counsellor, or who are involved in a caring profession.
Weekends commencing Fri 20 Jan; Fri 17 Feb; and Fri 10 March.
£325 ‘early bird’ rate, till Fri 30 December 2016. £340 after this date. Includes non-refundable £75 deposit. This also includes professional accreditation with ACC and academic accreditation with OCN. Balance to be paid by/on the first day of the course. Cheques made payable to: ‘Community Church Edinburgh’
As well as attending the course there are a number of written assignments and we suggest that you will need approximately an additional 16 hours for reading and completing these. Please be encouraged that some of the assignments will not need to be submitted until after the course has ended.
Christian Counselling Model and Practice (Level 3 OCN)
(previously named Certificate in Christian Counselling)
Applicants need to have completed the CCTS Introduction to Christian Counselling course or equivalent before applying for OCN Level 3. The course is relevant for anyone who wishes to train for a significant role in Christian counselling and pastoral care and takes skills, theory and self-awareness to a deeper level. Spread over 11 weekends and 12-18 months, the course will benefit anyone who professionally or in their churches wants to hone their people skills or might be interested in becoming a counsellor.
