Information about our Church Away Day at Aberdour Silver Sands.

Our Church Away Day on Sunday  21st July will be at Aberdour Silver Sands beach. This is a social event  (there will be no ‘church service’ element to the day). It is a great opportunity to hang out with each other and meet new people, so we really hope you will join us!
Aberdour Silver Sands is one of the most popular and attractive resorts on the Fife coast and due to its proximity to a large park offers the variety of the seaside as well as the tranquillity of the countryside.

You can find out more about Aberdour Silver Sands here

  • We will meet 12noon at the grassy area near the cafe:

You can find this on google maps here

  • Please bring your own picnic
  • Justin will organise some sports and games (feel free to bring your own sports equipment too).

Travel:

If you would like to offer a lift or need help getting there, please contact the office office@cce.community.

There is a train station at Aberdour, which is on the edge of Aberdour beach, just a 15 minute walk through the parkland. Train from Edinburgh Waverley to Aberdour:  (departs 10.15 arrives 10.47) or (departs 12.17 – arrives 12.49). Due to changing train services,  please do check national rail enquiries for up to date departure times and prices before you leave.

And for your safety;-

  • Please note parents are responsible for their children, please keep an eye on children particularly in the water and around any BBQs.
  • If you go swimming, please make sure someone knows you are doing that.
  • If you bring disposable BBQs please keen an eye on them at all times and make sure they are completely put out and disposed of before leaving. Be aware that the sand under a disposable BBQ can remain extremely hot after the BBQ has been put out.
  • Don’t position BBQs near any games that are being played and please keep an eye on any children near a BBQ.

We look forward to seeing you there!
